YakTables vs Airtable
Airtable is a broad, mature platform for building apps on top of tables. YakTables is narrower: shared operational tables where a second person's review, guest access and an audit trail come built in.
Both do
- Shared filtered views and record search
- Personal assignments and forms
- Multiple views of the same records
Where YakTables is different
- Independent approval bound to the exact version reviewed; self-approval is impossible
- Proposed work queues show how many records they include and exclude before you apply them
- Field-level guest grants that expire by default
- Bulk edits that refuse to overwrite newer changes and can be undone safely
Where Airtable is ahead
- Far broader interface-building controls
- More ways to organise personal views
- A much larger marketplace of integrations and extensions
Choose Airtable if…
you need its broader range of views, interface building or integrations, and reviews or approvals are informal in your team.
Choose YakTables if…
your records have to be checked by a second person, shared carefully with people outside the company, and changed in bulk without losing anyone's work.
Compared against published documentation, not a hands-on benchmark: Airtable views. Airtable filtering. Product names are trademarks of their owners.
